Job summary

Wellington Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Florida, is seeking a CVL Technologist for a full-time role in the Special Procedures team. The position covers diagnostic cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, vascular and hemodynamic monitoring, with cross-training opportunities across the hospital.

You will work 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime and holiday coverage; the department emphasizes patient safety, stroke awareness, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular school of Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Radiology preferred.
  • RCIS certification preferred and willingness to cross-train.
  • Experience in Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology or invasive vascular labs is favorable.

Responsibilities

  • Assists cardiologist in diagnostic cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion and vascular studies.
  • Maintains stroke knowledge and participates in stroke alert processes; cross-trains to other areas as needed.

This full-time opportunity offers 40 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient day shift schedule. There is an opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. Requirement for Call, Holiday Coverage

Role and Responsibilities

The CVL technologist assumes responsibility and accountability for all technical aspects of procedures, including scrub assistance and hemodynamic monitoring (if acting in those roles). The technologist is accountable to the patient, Department Manager, Department Director, Medical Director and Chief Nursing Officer.

Under the direction of the Department Manager and the Medical Director and with approved policy and procedure is responsible for assisting the cardiologist, in the performance of diagnostic cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, peripheral Vascular, and hemo-dynamic monitoring studies (if applicable). The CVL Technologist must be willing to cross train and float to other areas of the hospital to meet the needs of the facility. Recognizes the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. Verbalizes stroke alert process. Assists with preparation of patient for Endovascular treatment (groin clipping, peripheral pulse check, and transfer onto procedure table), room set up, assumes patient care of the stroke alert while in Interventional Radiology Department. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 4 hours online training.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular school of Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Radiology Technology preferred.
  • Graduate of a Surgical Scrub Program
  • Completion of a Vascular Technology Program within the first year
  • Current RCIS (Register Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years previous Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology, or Invasive Vascular Lab experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, basic dysrhythmia, and IABP training
  • Willingness to be cross trained to other areas
