Advocate Health is seeking a part-time patient care assistant in the Cath lab and EP lab at Advocate Christ Medical Center. The role includes procedural support, patient transport, supply maintenance, and documentation with a focus on safety and efficient workflow.

The position requires standing for long periods, the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, CPR certification (obtain within 6 months if not already possessed), and flexible on-call hours.

Competenze

• High school education or equivalent.
• 6 months-1 year of patient care experience preferred.

Mansioni

• Proper removal and documentation of femoral arterial and venous sheath.

• Timely retrieval of supplies and maintenance of patient film/CD library.
• Assist in data entry into the WITT system pre-procedure; collaborate with Procedure/Recovery areas for timely disposition.

Part time FTE working in Cath lab and EP lab

Pay Range:

$18.85 - $28.30

Major Responsibilities: Clinical 1)Proper removal and documentation of femoral arterial and venous sheath from patients. 2)Transportation of patients to procedure recovery area and nursing units. 3)Maintenance of adequate levels of supplies. 4)Transport of equipment for sterilization. 5)Timely retrieval of supplies. 6)Maintenance of patient film/CD library. 7)Assist in patient data entry into WITT system pre-procedure. 8)Work in close collaboration with Procedure/Recovery area for assistance in timely patient disposition. 9)Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives. Educational 1)Maintenance of CPR certification. 2)Participate in departmental education programs, staff meetings and process improvement initiatives. Education/Experience Required: High school education or equivalent. 6 months-1year of patient care experience is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Basic computer skills. CPR certification (If incumbent does not have CPR certification, he/she must obtain it within 6 months of employment). Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Good organizational skills. The ability to work unsupervised. Ability to function in a high stress environment. Ability to lift and move heavy patients. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work flexible hours and work on an on-call basis. This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 04/20/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available.
