Job summary

Atrium Health's Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – Charlotte is seeking a Full-Time Adult Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join our established practice in Charlotte, NC. You will collaborate with supervising physicians to assess, diagnose, treat, educate and refer patients in a high-volume vascular/cardiac setting.

Ideal candidates hold NC NP/PA licensure with prescriptive privileges (DEA), NCCPA certification for PAs or Acute Care NP Certification for NPs, and have

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program and maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina.
• Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
• Physician Assistants: NCCPA certification required.
• Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required.
• Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency appropriate to patients’ age and needs.
• Work independently with strong decision-making and communicate effectively with MDs, APPs, and staff for inpatient care coordination.
• Shifts: Nocturnist - 12hr shifts on a 7on/7off cycle with 14 off every 3rd cycle.
• Multiple providers to allow scheduling flexibility.
• Weekends and holidays required; no call; travel to other sites may be rare.
• No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR setting possible.
• Procedures include pleurodesis, autologous patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, wound VAC.

Practice Highlights

• Two distinct surgery service lines, cardiothoracic and vascular surgery with 29 physicians across SHVI and APP led teams across three sites.
• More than 1500 complex procedures performed among the different surgery service lines.
• The practice is structured with inpatient, outpatient and surgical teams and utilizes a closed CTICU

Job Summary

• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently with strong decision-making skills. Strong communication skills a must.Will be working with a variety of MDs, APPs and ancillary staff for inpatient managementand coordination of patient care.
• Shifts: Nocturnist - 12hr shifts. rotating schedule 7on-7off with 14-off every 3rd cycle.
• Multiple providers to allow for flexibility to schedule
• Weekends, Holidays required. No Call. Travel to other sites may rarely be required.
• No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR setting possible
• Procedures, including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.

Ideal Candidates

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program AND maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
• Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required
• Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required
• Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred
