Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health – Mercy Health Springfield Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio seeks an experienced physician assistant to join its cardiothoracic surgery service line. Salary is $200,000+ per year. The role includes operating room assistance and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient care with surgeons, postoperative follow-up, rounds, and discharge planning. Board certification and Ohio PA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• NCCPA certification is required.
• Current Ohio physician assistant licensure is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care alongside supervising physician.
• Follow up with patients after surgery in the office.
• Perform physical assessments and complete histories.
• Round on hospitalized patients and review care plans with nursing staff.
• Assist in the operating room; vein harvest experience is required.
• Complete discharge summaries.
• Order medications, treatments and labs per Ohio Medical Board and Mercy Health credentialing.
• Be available for call according to schedule, including holidays.
• Other duties as assigned by supervising physicians.
