Job summary

Methodist Medical Group in Dallas, Texas seeks an experienced Physician Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery Program, collaborating with four surgeons and three PAs to deliver comprehensive adult cardiac care from preoperative assessment to recovery. The CT surgery APP will work with a multidisciplinary team in a high-autonomy role.

Qualifications

• Graduate and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Current, unencumbered Texas Physician Assistant license.
• Board Certification as a Physician Assistant (PANNS).
• BLS and ACLS certification, required.
• DEA registration, required.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a PA, CT surgery/critical care preferred.
• At least three years of Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre- and post-operative assessments for CT surgery patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and make clinical decisions.
• Develop and manage treatment plans, including meds and wound care.
• Perform procedures within privileges (e.g., chest tube removal).
• Take part in daily rounds and provide patient updates.
• Coordinate with surgeons, nurses, and other clinicians.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to quality improvement and ongoing education.
