Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking an acute care nurse practitioner or physician associate to become part of our highly respected and collaborative cardiothoracic surgery team in beautiful Bangor, Maine. Candidates must have at least two years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery or in the cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced cardiothoracic surgeons and multidisciplinary specialists while caring for complex cardiac and thoracic surgery patients across the continuum of care.

Position Highlights:

  • 4-day workweek supporting an exceptional work-life balance
  • Collaborative practice with cardiothoracic surgeons, structural heart specialists, intensivists, and thoracic oncology practitioners
  • Daily management of patients in the CVICU and stepdown units
  • Participate in the care of critically ill postoperative cardiac and thoracic surgery patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, interpretation, and medication management
  • Develop and implement treatment plans independently and in collaboration with the surgeons
  • Assist in the operating room and perform bedside procedures within scope of practice
  • Coordinate patient progression of care, discharge planning, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards

Compensation Information:

  • $131,000-$180,000 annual base salary.
  • The compensation range listed reflects the range Northern Light Health anticipates relying on in setting the wages for the position.The range may not necessarily include all additional compensation elements available, including but not limited to call pay, leadership stipends, etc.
