Job summary

Piedmont Heart Institute in Macon, GA seeks a BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon to support a high-volume, complex cardiovascular program. The role involves operative care across congenital and acquired heart diseases with collaboration across cardiology and hospital teams.

The ideal candidate will hold Cardiothoracic Fellowship and be Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery, with expertise in Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR, and will provide both surgical and non-surgical patient management within Piedmont

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of Cardiothoracic Fellowship and Board Certification in Thoracic Surgery.
• Expertise in Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR (MRAs).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and perform surgery for congenital and acquired heart and great vessel conditions.
• Provide non-surgical care as well as pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.
• Obtain admitting privileges and support care in critical care settings.
• Assess, stabilize, and disposition patients with emergent conditions per medical staff policy.
• Manage chronic cardiovascular diseases, order imaging/labs, and plan treatments including surgical interventions.
• Coordinate care with hospitalists, primary care physicians, cardiology colleagues, and other specialists to improve quality and patient satisfaction.
