Adventist Health Rideout is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant to join our surgical team. This role offers autonomy and the opportunity to work on high-acuity cases in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include pre-operative H&P, postoperative care, and OR assistance for cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including Endoscopic Vein Harvesting with MAquet VasoView Hemepro 2. Must have CA licensure eligibility and 1 year in Vein Harvesting and as First Assistant.

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in California.
• 1 year of Endoscopic Vein Harvesting experience.
• 1 year as Cardiac Surgery First Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-operative histories and physicals and assist in postoperative recovery for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients, including in the OR and CVICU.
• Enjoy a high level of autonomy in day-to-day responsibilities.
• Assist in operating room for cardiovascular and thoracic cases, including Endoscopic Vein Harvesting using the MAquet VasoView Hemepro 2 system.
• Perform bedside procedures such as thoracentesis, chest tube placement, arterial lines, and central venous access.
• Collaborate daily with a current PA, alternating between surgical and non-surgical duties.

Adventist Health Rideout is excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant to join our dynamic surgical team. Take your career to the next level in a role that offers both autonomy and the chance to work on high-acuity cases.

• Conduct office-based pre-operative histories and physicals as well as assist in post-operative recovery for cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients, including in the OR and CVICU.
• Enjoy a high level of autonomy in your day-to-day responsibilities.
• Assist in the operating room for both cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases, including performing Endoscopic Vein Harvesting using the MAquet VasoView Hemepro 2 system.
• Perform vital bedside procedures, including thoracentesis, chest tube placement, arterial lines, and central venous access.
• Collaborate daily with a current Physician Assistant, alternating between surgical and non-surgical duties.
• Join a dedicated team currently composed of two surgeons and one PA, collectively performing over 100 cardiac surgeries and an equal number of thoracic procedures each year.
• Requirements: 1 year of experience in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting and 1 year as a Cardiac Surgery First Assist.
• Participate in weekend and evening on-call coverage as needed.

Experience:

Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in California and meet the hospital's medical staff credentialing standards.

Wage Scale: $235,000-$265,000/year
