Job summary

OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus is seeking a Cardiothoracic/vascular RN to support outpatient procedures. This hands-on role blends coordination, patient education, and clinical tasks in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

You will schedule surgeries, manage preauthorization workflows with physicians and staff, and provide calm guidance to patients facing major procedures while complying with Ohio Nurse Practice Act and BLS requirements.

Qualifications

• Cardiac, Med/Surg, Vascular or Surgical experience highly desired.
• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or compact state in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgery scheduling with operating room and physician schedules; obtain prior authorizations.
• Communicate surgical prep instructions to patients; coordinate with multiple departments.
• Multitask in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in process improvement to improve clinical quality and patient satisfaction.
• Act within a High Reliability Organization; uphold safety, quality and efficiency in duties.
