Job summary

CVCA Wheat Ridge seeks a Cardiology Veterinary Assistant to provide hands-on clinical support to cardiologists and technicians. You will assist with exams, venipuncture, medications, and radiographs, and help with ECGs and Holter monitors.

The role supports patient care and client communication while maintaining equipment and records. Ideal candidates have veterinary assistant experience; cardiology exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Veterinary assistant experience is required; cardiology or specialty experience is a bonus.
• Calm, efficient approach in fast-paced environments.
• Confident handling of pets of all sizes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and travel to secondary locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on clinical support to cardiologists and technicians during exams and procedures.
• Assist with venipuncture, medications administration, and taking radiographs.
• Support specialized cardiac diagnostics including ECGs and Holter monitoring.
• Prepare patients, position, restrain safely, and maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Discharge patients, review plans, and assist with scheduling and client communication.
• Maintain medical records, prescriptions, invoices, and inventory; train new teammates.
