Job summary

UPMC Mercy Health Center's Heart and Vascular Institute is hiring a Full-time Cardiology Technician. The role supports electrocardiograms, Holter and event monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and cardiac device remote monitoring in both hospital-based and outpatient clinics.

The position works Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and involves rooming patients, data entry, reviewing results, preparing equipment, and assisting with stress testing as needed.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient medical records and correctly scan documents and enter data into the patient record.
• Receive results from diagnostic studies such as lab work, EKGs and X-ray. Notify appropriate personnel immediately of abnormal results.
• Demonstrate competency by independently performing procedures and setup in the outpatient clinical setting.
• Prepare and prep for holter and event monitors. Download reports and maintain holter/event database.
• Prepare and prep clinical exam rooms as necessary.
• Provide care to adult and geriatric patients. Assess health history, take vital signs, review medications, and enter data in patient record.
• Coordinate patient visits and schedule for additional studies. Draw and process blood samples and perform EKGs as needed.
• Complete all forms and communicate with the clinical nurse coordinator and physician in charge.
• Perform correct and accurate charge entry for office visits and testing.
• Perform six minute walk tests and prep and perform exercise stress testing as necessary.
• Provide service line training and education such as Epic/Epicare, and onboarding for new Cardiac Technician/MA.
• Order supplies as needed for the clinic.
