SIGN ON BONUS - $2,500 with 1 year commitment
General Summary: Under direct supervision of the office manager and physicians, responsible for the cardiac stress technical duties as well as medical assistant duties. Respond to patients, visitors and fellow team members in a pleasant, helpful and professional manner. Performs delegated medical tasks, assists providers and nursing staff with patient care. Demonstrates leadership by collaboration, teamwork, communication, accountability, customer service and advanced knowledge of clinical skills. Perform technical duties including EKG's, rhythm strips, stress testing and manual blood pressures. Prepare patient for testing. Obtain vital signs. Perform/assist the provider with cardiac diagnostic studies (stress tests, EKG's, monitors, etc). Review 12 lead EKG prior to performing stress test then perform stress test following protocols. Monitor patients including blood pressure, heart rate, and EKG during test. When completed, review and discuss results with provider. Act as a medical assistant for assigned provider providing clinical support Act as back up to lead cardiovascular stress tech reading and interpreting holter/event monitors. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Working in a well-lit environment, occasional in confined areas. Potential for exposure to nuclear radiation, requiring adherence to safety policies including monitoring of radiation badges, Potential for minimal exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials, requiring the observance of Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices. Expected to work day shift, including weekends and holidays as necessary. Will be exposed to frequent interruptions and occasional crisis situations. This position has been classified as medium exposure risk and requires the completion of an annual respirator mask fitting.
