Ochsner Health System and LSU Health Shreveport seek a full-time Chief of the Section of Cardiology to lead a team of physicians, guide education for medical students, interns and residents, and collaborate with hospital leadership on strategic priorities.

The role includes maintaining clinical schedules, overseeing CCU care, budgeting, and advancing quality metrics while fostering clinical excellence and program development.

Qualifications

• M.D. degree and eligibility for Louisiana medical licensure.
• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Cardiology.
• Experience in Cardiology with interpretation of ECGs, echocardiograms and related tests.
• Strong communication with learners, faculty and staff.
• U.S. work authorization (J-1 and H-1B welcome).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Section of Cardiology and advise on faculty hiring.
• Oversee care in Cardiology service and CCU, provide consults.
• Promote clinical productivity and manage department budget requests.
• Develop quality metrics and supervise educational activities.
• Maintain education meetings and office hours M-F.
