Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiology Medicine Unit (KM9). The role supports nursing with patient care, including dressing changes and safety interventions, in a 32-bed unit located in the new inpatient facility.

The position is full-time, 36 hours weekly with a rotating schedule of day and night shifts and weekend/holiday rotation. Prior patient-care experience is preferred; BIDMC in-house training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Patient care experience encouraged (CNA/LNA/MA/ED Tech/EMT/PCT certificate or nursing student with clinical rotation).
• BIDMC in-house training program completion preferred.
• Allied Health/Pre-Med/PA candidates considered.
• Home Health Aide experience welcome.
• Basic familiarity with computers and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with a nursing team to provide quality patient care.
• Develops and maintains competencies as delegated by a registered nurse, including sterile dressing changes.
• Maintains patient safety and follows nursing safety interventions.
• Communicates patient activity to the registered nurse promptly.
