Job summary

Winslow Indian Health Care Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide basic nursing care under a Cardiologist’s supervision across the Winslow and Dilkon locations. The role includes patient screening, vital signs, EKG support, and data entry in EHR systems.

You will assist in scheduling, prior authorizations, and coordinating with the cardiology team, while ensuring confidentiality and quality patient care. A CNA/LNA credential and CPR/BLS are required or obtainable within a month.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Credentialed as a CNA or LNA is required.
• One year nursing assistant experience is preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification is required, or obtainable within the first month of hire.
• Bilingual English and Navajo preferred.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide basic nursing care.
• Take and record vital signs; determine main visit purpose for scheduled patients.
• Assist with EKGs, cardiac monitoring lead placements, and point-of-care tests.
• Support clinicians during examinations and prepare instruments as needed.
• Enter data in RPMS, EHR, and Vista imaging programs; manage chart notes.
• Schedule appointments and manage clinic calendars; coordinate referrals.
• Handle incoming calls, route information, and assist with clerical tasks.
• Assist with transport of patients using gurneys, wheelchairs, etc.
• Maintain supplies and assist with monthly inventory checks.
• Provide patient education and interpretation as needed.
