Job summary

Baptist Heart Specialists, part of Baptist Health, seeks a full-time Medical Assistant for the Jacksonville area. You will support cardiology care by rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting providers in the clinic.

The role requires 2+ years of patient care, a high school diploma or GED, and BLS. Travel to other Baptist locations is expected; mileage reimbursement is provided as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• 2+ years patient care experience.
• Experience in a physician's office.
• BLS certification required.
• CMA certification preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred (AA/AS).

Responsibilities

• Provides medical assistance to physicians.
• Obtains vital signs from patients.
• Greets and chaperones patients during visits.
• Maintains medical documentation and records.
• Schedules care, tests and referrals per physician.
• Processes prescription requests and referrals.
