Job summary
The Texas Heart Institute at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a patient-focused Medical Assistant to support the Cardiology clinic in Fannin Tower. The ideal candidate will assist with rooming patients, performing EKGs, and answering clinical questions.
You will provide clinical support via MyChart and LiveAnswer, handle basic order entry and scanning of records, and assist with prescription refills and insurance pre-authorizations. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with accredited Medical Assistant training.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in ambulatory care.
- Current Medical Assistant certification from an accredited organization.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and perform EKGs following established protocols.
- Provide clinical support for patient questions via MyChart and LiveAnswer.
- Support clinical administrative duties such as order entry, scanning records, and prescription refills.
- Assist with insurance pre-authorizations or related issues.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
