Job summary

Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia seeks anexperienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLS) to perform moderate complexity testing in our new CCP Now cardiac walk-in clinic laboratory. You will collect samples, run analyses, and ensure accurate reporting.

Responsibilities include maintaining QC, calibrating instruments, troubleshooting issues, and cooperating with staff to uphold patient safety and quality care. Requires MLS(ASCP), a B.S.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 years of relevant experience.
• BS in Medical Technology or related sciences.
• MLS(ASCP) certification is required.
• Hematology, chemistry or generalist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient samples with proper ID and labeling.
• Follow procedures for specimen handling, testing, reporting and recording results.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document all QC activities.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and ensure calibration.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems that affect test performance or reporting.
• Follow corrective action policies and document actions taken.
• Comply with safety standards, SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with team and office staff to ensure patient safety and quality improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
