Qualifications

• Associate's degree or graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Previous nursing experience preferred.
• AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider, Registered Nurse - NJ.
• TNCC within 1 year of hire and 8 hours of Trauma related Continuing Nursing Education if assigned to ICU/CTU/Surgical Trauma Unit/ED.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification within orientation and 8 hours of Stroke related Continuing Nursing Education if assigned to Critical Care/ED/Neuro Units.
• ACLS within 6 months if assigned to Critical Care/ER/ Pediatrics/OB units.
• NRP within 6 months if assigned to Maternity Services.
• PALS within 6 months if assigned to ER/ Pediatrics; ENPC accepted in lieu for some ER roles.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality care to patients through the nursing process with the team.
• Assures patient safety by following policies and procedures.
• Provides pain management and information to patient/family.
• Assists in discharge planning to support daily living activities.
• Communicates with care teams to ensure safe, effective treatment.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and Joint Commission readiness.
• Contributes to staffing planning and educational sessions.
• Engages in patient education for medication management and follow-up care.
