Atrium Health's Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in Monroe, NC is seeking an experienced Cardiology Acute Care NP or PA to join our team. Sign-On Bonus Eligible. The role is part of an autonomous team providing in-hospital care across cardiology services.

The APP will work with MDs and other APPs, performing rounds, orders, and procedures as permitted under state law. Day shifts are 7 on/7 off, with holidays required, supporting high-quality cardiovascular care in a busy tertiary setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program with NC licensure.
• ACLS/BLS current; prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
• ACPN certification for Acute Care preferred for NPs.

Responsabilités

• Daily inpatient rounding on cardiology service and triage of new/established patients.
• Diagnose, treat and manage common cardiology conditions in adults.
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies including echo, stress tests and imaging.
• Provide patient and family education and ensure documentation meets hospital standards.
• Collaborate with cardiology MDs and other APPs in a team-based model.

Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute, a part of Atrium Health, is looking for a Cardiology Acute Care NP or PA to join our team. *Sign-On Bonus Eligible*

• This role is an autonomous part of our team-based care model and utilized to top of license and scope on our inpatient general cardiology service.
• The APP will be part of a team of specialized cardiology MDs and APPs.
• The APP will direct in hospital care services and perform medical acts under the supervision of the Service line physician to all patients on the cardiology service including general cardiology, Interventional, and Heart Failure (HF) patients.
• Areas of clinical work include but not limited to medicine/surgical floors, cardiovascular telemetry unit, CVICU, med/surg ICU, Emergency Department, and the cardiovascular OBS unit. The APP is expected to be capable of reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations and be able to work autonomously as a provider.

CARDIOLOGY AGACNP or PA:

• Responsible for daily rounding as well as inpatient service triage and patient throughput. Evaluating new and established patients from the ER and on the cardiovascular service as well as diagnose, treat, and manage common conditions in the cardiovascular population.
• Perform an appropriate history and physical exam, write emergent progress notes, assess, and prepare patient workups and follows core measures for documentation including hospital and 3rdparty payer requirements and appropriate patient care.
• Facilitate and order diagnostic studies including echocardiograms, stress tests, MRIs, CTs, and cardiac catheterization if indicated.
• Order appropriate laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explained necessity, preparation, and risks and benefits of scheduled diagnostics and therapeutic procedures to the patient and family.
• Has the ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
• Participate in evaluations with the primary supervising physician as directed by State laws.
• DAY SHIFT - 7on/7off rotation, holidays required

Position Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
• Nurse practitioners are required to have Acute Care Certification.
• Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
  • Maintain ACLS and BLS certification as well as all licenses and certifications as mandated by the Hospital Credentialing Committee.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:

• 1+ years of experience as a provider required; experience in Cardiology
• Highly motivated with superb communication and organizational skills with a commitment to provide quality care to the patients we serve in the Greater Charlotte community

About the practice:

• The SHVI Union campus is a 182-bed tertiary care center with subspecialty support located in Monroe, NC with easy access to Uptown Charlotte, South Carolina, shopping, restaurants, and other activities, as well as several other growing suburban and urban areas to live.
• There are approximately 10 physicians and 4 APPs at this location whose subspecialties include:
  • Interventional Cardiology
  • Vascular Surgery

  • Electrophysiology
