Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Cardiology team. This full-time, day-shift position supports clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, basic diagnostics, room and supply management, and coordinating scheduling and registration. Strong patient communication and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• CMA, RMA, or CCMA through AAMA or NHA required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the physician or nurse with patient assessments, treatments, and clinical procedures.
• Performing basic diagnostic and specimen collection.
• Monitoring and reporting changes in patient condition.
• Accurately documents patient care.
• Ensures exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies are clean, stocked, and function appropriately.
• Supporting administrative functions such as scheduling, reception, registration, filing and data entry as needed.
