Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support a portfolio of studies under moderate supervision. You will help with IRB submissions, data collection, patient screening and enrollment, and regulatory documentation.

You will also assist in monitoring biospecimens, adverse events, and billing processes while maintaining high ethical standards and patient privacy, working closely with the research team in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree or allied health professional degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of relevant clinical research experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists and/or responsible for IRB submissions and other regulatory forms; coordinates essential regulatory documents and submits timely documentation to sponsor.
• Participates in the informed consent process of research participants.
• Pre-screening of potential research participants to determine eligibility and interest; screen, recruit and enroll participants.
• Maintains study source documents and case report forms; ensures timely data entry and query resolution.
• Ensures proper collection, processing, and shipment of biospecimens; maintains OSHA and IATA training as required.
• Receives, stores, and accounts for test articles; works with research pharmacist as applicable; ensures FDA-regulated handling and accountability.
• Identifies, documents, and reports adverse events; assists investigator with determination of seriousness and causality.
• Coordinates protocol-related procedures, visits, and follow-up care; educates participants and families on protocol and intervention.
