Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health's Franciscan Heart and Vascular Associates in Burien, WA, is seeking a full-time Clinic RN-Cardio. You will care for patients with cardiac events, monitor vitals, and collaborate with cardiologists and EKG techs to support acute and long-term care.

This role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, WA RN license, BLS/ CPR, and ACLS. The position offers a daytime schedule with no weekends or nights.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
• Two years of related work experience.
• Registered Nurse: WA license at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) at hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Administers cardiovascular and pharmacological stress tests with imaging and IV therapy; interprets EKG findings per protocols.
• Completes cardiac risk assessments for cardiac clearance requests and forwards to Cardiologist.
• Reviews protocols and provides patient-specific training/information based on medical history.
• Performs nursing triage activities as initial patient contact; triages cardiac patients per standing orders.
• Documents studies and interactions in the electronic medical record; manages orders per procedures.

• Administers cardiovascular and pharmacological stress tests with the use of imaging modalities and IV therapy as appropriate; interprets EKG findings in accordance with standard protocols.


• Completes cardiac risk assessment forms in response to requests from internal/external providers for cardiac clearance for new/additional clinical/diagnostic tests/protocols; forwards assessments to Cardiologist for final determination.


• Reviews protocols established for each procedure/study and provides patient with specifically-tailored training/information based on unique patient medical history and physician-specific protocols.


• As initial point of patient contact, performs nursing triage activities based on direct patient contact or via phone within scope of licensure; independently triages cardiac patients/situations in accordance with standing orders/protocols; addresses more complex, urgent or emergent situations escalated from other clinic staff.


• Documents studies, procedures, and interactions in patient’s electronic medical record in accordance with established procedures; enters, pends and signs orders as appropriate.
