Job summary

Cincinnati Children's Ikegami Lab seeks a motivated Research Assistant to join a dynamic team investigating molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular and age-related diseases. You will work on nuclear envelope biology, gene regulation, chromatin organization, and laminopathies using modern genomics, microscopy, stem cell differentiation, and animal models.

This role involves carrying out established protocols, recording data, troubleshooting procedures, and presenting findings in group meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 1 year of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in laboratory settings and willingness to train and supervise others preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments and record data following established research protocols.
• Understand and apply scientific principles to troubleshoot procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and analyze data statistically and graphically.
• Design and execute daily lab experiments in coordination with senior staff.
• Assist in training junior personnel and overseeing undergraduates.
