Job summary

Artivion, Inc. in Austin develops and manufactures On-X Mechanical Heart Valves. The Component Processing Technician inspects, tests, and assembles heart valves, and packages OEM components in a clean room environment.

The role involves visual and dimensional inspection, use of calipers and a microscope, and operating specialized equipment with strict adherence to written procedures. FDA/ISO manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in inspection or assembly or similar intricate hand work preferred.
• Experience working within FDA & ISO manufacturing practices preferred.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office, internet, and email.
• Ability to read and understand detailed manufacturing instructions and drawings.
• Ability to use a microscope.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect components with a microscope; pass/fail decisions.
• Perform in-process measurement using calipers, fixtures with digital readouts, electronic scale.
• Perform and record visual/functional inspections, leak test, proof test, and peel tester.
• Work in clean room environment; maintain cleanliness of hands and clothing.
• Operate vacuum furnace, vent cover application, heat sealing, ultrasonic and press equipment; document results.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
