Job summary

University of Miami Hospital & Clinics – Cardiac Echo Lab is seeking a skilled echocardiography technician. The incumbent will assess cardiac blood flow, heart rhythms, and functions using ultrasound, prepare patients, and assists in contrast studies with IV access.

Core qualifications include an Associate's degree and ARDMS RDCS or RCIS licensing, with at least 1 year of related experience. The role requires flexibility for evenings, nights, and weekend shifts with on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary, and explains procedures to patients.
• Performs Venipuncture for insertion of venous catheter for contrast administration.
• Administer IV contrast during the performance of contrast echocardiograms.
• Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques.
• Processes echo exams with appropriate medical history and match it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation.
• Assists in maintenance and compilation of statistical data.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work therein.

(40 hrs. per week )M-F 6:00AM to 4:00PM, 4 day a week 10 hour shift. In addition to weekends. Including on call hours on a rotating schedule

Positions patients, using immobilization when necessary, and explains procedures to patients. Performs Venipuncture for insertion of venous catheter for contrast administrationAdminister IV contrast during the performance of contrast echocardiograms. After education on indications, contraindications and side effects.Performs the quality control functions. Evaluates ultrasounds for diagnostic quality. Prepares and sets up medical supplies using aseptic techniques. Processes echo exams with appropriate medical history and match it with the appropriate paperwork for interpretation. Assists in maintenance and compilation of statistical data. Performs other related duties incidental to the work therein. After education on indications, contraindications and side effects.
