The 12‑hour shifts offer self-scheduling and nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse in AZ.
• One year recent acute care experience.
• American Heart Association CPR/BLS.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
• BSN preferred.
• 1 year ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive, safe, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes.
• Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities and documents the nursing care plan in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates accountability for ethical behavior, seeks collaboration, and follows chain of command.
• Advocates for patients with culturally sensitive care and respect for diverse beliefs.
• Detects changes in patient condition and responds promptly to labs, vitals, and test values.
• Uses SBAR to notify physicians and other providers and conducts bedside nurse-to-nurse handoffs.

• Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient. Represents the organization in a positive manner. Applies negotiation and conflict management strategies.
• Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient. Documents the nursing care plan and incorporates the nursing process following the standard of care for patient care area. Documents changes in patient condition and response to interventions within established timeframes.
• Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues. Recognizes limits of scope of practice, seeks multidisciplinary collaboration, utilizes appropriate resources, and follows chain of command. Assumes accountability for decisions made.
• Serves as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices. Uses knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab, vitals, signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
• Utilizes SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside.

The Lung Transplant/Thoracic ICU at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is a dynamic environment where you can pursue a highly challenging and rewarding career. Job Requirements. Required

Pay Range

$35.00 - $58.63 /hour
