Job summary

Terrebonne General Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate nursing care for patients in the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit. This role emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based practice and professional growth as you lead patient care with other nurses and support staff.

You will educate patients and families, respond quickly to changes in patient status, and ensure documentation, medications and treatments follow policy.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient conditions; initiate and adjust care plans as needed.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status with appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and perform treatments in accordance with policy.
• Provide hygiene and comfort measures to support patient well-being.
• Educate patients and families; address emotional and psychosocial needs.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare teams.
• Identify and manage patient risks, including falls and skin breakdown.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures, including proper body mechanics.
• Complete documentation, shift reports, and assigned tasks accurately and on time.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and use time efficiently to deliver patient-centered care.
