Job summary
Southern California Hospitals in California seeks a Telemetry Registered Nurse to detect cardiac dysrhythmias, monitor patients, and manage therapy equipment for those with significant heart disease or dysrhythmia. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement a comprehensive plan of care and coordinate care across disciplines.
The role requires an active California RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, BLS and ACLS, and strong English
Qualifications
- Active, current RN license in California
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- One year telemetry or critical care nursing experience OR completion of a basic cardiac dysrhythmia training course
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only)
Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care for telemetry patients
- Monitors cardiac rhythms and manages IV infusions
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Reevaluates patient response and adjusts plans for discharge and referrals
- Acts as a mentor to new graduates and support staff
- Ensures infection control and HIPAA compliance
