Job summary

Britt Medical Search is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a cardiac surgery team in Annapolis, MD. The role covers preoperative through outpatient care, with opportunities to first assist in CABG, valve, and aortic surgeries, and to perform ICU procedures under supervision.

Candidates must have an accredited PA or ACNP program, at least six years of cardiac surgery experience, and current active licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or an accredited nursing program as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Six years of related cardiac surgery clinical experience as a PA or ACNP
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to collaborate effectively with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative, perioperative, postoperative, and outpatient management of cardiac surgery patients
• First assist in cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, valve, and aortic surgeries
• Perform ICU bedside procedures, including arterial and central line insertion
• Perform endovascular vein harvesting and other minor surgical procedures within scope of practice
• Evaluate patients, interpret diagnostic findings, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to manage complex patient needs
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient satisfaction efforts
• Share group call responsibilities, including nights and weekends
• 24 hour coverage for our new Cardiac Surgery Program with call pay
