Job summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Registered Nurse Coordinator for the Cardiac Surgery Clinic to provide direct patient care and comprehensive care coordination for complex cardiac cases. The role requires collaboration with surgeons, physicians, and the healthcare team to coordinate preoperative and postoperative care across settings.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited nursing degree, RN license, 1 year RN experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing.
Valid RN License
Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nursing experience
Current BLS certification or must successfully obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Collects and documents assessment data from patients and/or others per UAMS standard.
Develops patient’s Plan of Care per department/unit standards utilizing assessment data.
Evaluates the progress of patients toward attainment of desired outcomes.
Administers medication following department/unit standards and Nurse Practice Act.
Verifies and evaluates care delivered to ensure it aligns with patient and family centered care principles and regulatory requirements.
Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.
