Job summary

Hartford Healthcare is seeking a Cardiac Surgery specialist to join our leading not-for-profit system in Connecticut. You will perform complex cardiac surgical procedures, coordinate perioperative care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate treatment.

You will mentor residents and clinical staff, participate in teaching, and contribute to quality improvement and patient safety while using advanced technology and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Valid Connecticut Medical License.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex cardiac surgical procedures including valve and CABG operations.
  • Coordinate pre-operative evaluation and post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients.
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists, cardiologists, nurses, and allied staff in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Document care in the EMR and communicate clearly with patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and teaching of residents, fellows, and clinical staff.
  • Mentor residents, fellows, and clinical staff.
