Job summary

University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health seeks a Medical Assistant/Cardiac Stress Tech to perform EKGs, stress tests and related tasks. Under supervision, you will prepare patients, obtain vitals and assist providers during non-invasive cardiac testing. A year of electrocardiography experience is preferred.

Required are a high school diploma, an electrocardiographic course, and BLS/ACLS. The role supports a team-focused environment with patient-centered care and adherence to safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Electrocardiographic and arrhythmia course required.
• BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKGs, rhythm strips, stress testing and manual blood pressures.
• Prepare patient for testing; obtain vital signs; review 12-lead EKG prior to stress test.
• Monitor during test; discuss results with provider; assist with clinical tasks.
• Back up to lead cardiovascular stress tech; perform other duties as assigned.
