Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Cardiac Sonographer for The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati to perform diagnostic echocardiography, including TTE, TEE, and stress testing, to evaluate heart function.

The role requires BLS, RDCS or RCS credentialing, and an Associates degree in a related field. On-call hours are required, with experience in EPIC EHR and PACS preferred. Mercy Health offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during TTE, TEE, and stress testing.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.

Education

Job Summary

The Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart. The testing modalities include Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing.

Essential Functions

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing examinations.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.

Education

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
• Required credentialed in echocardiography by one of the following organizations:
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Experience

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer (preferred)
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
• Picture archiving communication system (PACS) experience (preferred)
