Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for PRN/Casual shifts at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. The role focuses on cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures and may involve training staff and fellows.

Preferred candidates have 2+ years of hospital experience and hold an Associate's degree or equivalent in a cardiac ultrasound program, plus BLS certification. Nuclear and vascular imaging collaboration is common in this team.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree OR equivalent combination of education/experience from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program performing all types of cardiac ultrasound in a health care environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently to accomplish tasks that require self-direction.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from an AHA endorsed program.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures and acquire echocardiographic data to support patient care.
• Provide education and training in ultrasound procedures for fellows, interns and staff.
