Novant Health in Wilmington, NC seeks a Cardiac Sonographer I to oversee daily echo lab operations, maintain equipment, and report failures. The role requires RDCS or RCS certification and basic proficiency in transthoracic and transesophageal echoes.
Candidates should have a high school diploma (or GED), an associate degree preferred, and one year of experience. Strong communication and the ability to adapt to patient needs are essential in this team-driven environment.
The Cardiac Sonographer I is responsible for daily operations of the echo lab, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality improvement. The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the anatomy and pathology.
The sonographer is proficient in performing basic transthoracic echoes and transesophageal echoes. The sonographer should have knowledge in diagnostic digital images and hemodynamic data for physician interpretation. Work closely with Cardiologist to obtain optimal echocardiography quality.
Education: High School or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
Experience: One year, preferred.
Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.
Licensure/Certification: Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS (New Graduates will have 6 months to pass registry), required.
