Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer I to perform and record echocardiology diagnostic tests under supervision, ensuring exam quality and accurate results for patients across all ages.

Qualified candidates will have an allied health associate or bachelor’s degree, completion of an accredited sonographer program, or ARDMS/CCI eligibility, plus BLS certification. OSF highlights education support, PSLF eligibility, 401(k) match, and well-being time.

Qualifications

• Associate in allied health that is patient care related or bachelor’s degree (any major) OR Completion of an Accredited Sonographer Program OR ARDMS/CCI eligibility to sit for certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ARDMS or CCI credential within two years of hire (or as applicable).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record Echocardiology diagnostic tests under proctoring/supervision.
• Ensure echocardiogram exams are of acceptable quality and record results.
• Provide patient care appropriate to the ages of patients served.

Expected pay for this position is $39.13 - $51.21/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cardiac Sonographer I follows established policies, procedures, and performs and records Echocardiology diagnostic tests under proctoring/supervision. In doing so, obtains information about normal and abnormal anatomy used to diagnosis disease. Ensures echocardiogram exams are of accept¬able quality and records results. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

• Associate in allied health that is patient care related or bachelor's degree (any major) OR Completion of an Accredited Sonographer Program OR Approved by the ARDMS or CCI governing body to sit for the certification.

Licensure/ Certification

• American Heart Association HealthCare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required before providing patient care. - Must obtain Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within two (2) years of hire OR credentialed within 2 years if within an accredited lab, if applicable.
