Job summary

Job description

Position Highlights
  • Sign‑on Bonus: $15,000 for New Hire, $10,000 for New Grad (eligible candidates)

  • Employment Type: Full Time and PRN

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA‑approved School of Radiologic Technology, AMA‑approved ultrasound course, or CMA‑accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound program
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • One year patient experience preferred
  • Valid sonography credential (RDMS, RDCS, or RCS) registered through ARDMS or CCI
  • Must be registered in appropriate cardiology specialty within two years of hire
  • Current BLS Certification
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and emergency echocardiograms (2‑D, 3‑D, Doppler, TEE, stress) as requested by physicians following established protocols
  • Record quality information and follow procedural guidelines
  • Explain procedures and side effects to patients or family members
  • Provide echocardiography service at all locations, including portables, variable shifts, weekends, and emergent call coverage as scheduled
  • Operate equipment and ancillary devices to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings
  • Maintain equipment, make minor adjustments, repairs, routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report malfunctions to echo lab manager
  • Analyze patient medical records for history of symptoms and necessary information for diagnostic procedures
  • Prepare preliminary reports for review by Cardiologist
  • Participate in quality improvement activities; evaluate procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain logs
  • Review department performance against established goals and implement changes to affect outcomes
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees, and company‑related activities
  • Instruct students, fellows, nurses, or health personnel as requested
  • Communicate technical and patient‑care information according to established processes and timelines
  • Attend Echo Lab meetings and participate in related conferences for continuing education
  • Work weekends, holidays, and on‑call as needed
  • Cultivate a collaborative work environment within the department
  • Level 4 Cardiac Sonographers have additional expectations:
    • Participate in dedicated research protocols as needed
    • Perform portable and lab echocardiograms in inpatient settings on weekends, holidays, and on call (must work in inpatient setting to qualify)
    • Act as resource in absence of leadership team to provide coverage
    • Actively participate in internal and external educational opportunities
    • Serve as role model for other cardiac sonographers
    • Troubleshoot Cardiac Ultrasound equipment issues and ensure resolution
  • Troubleshoot issues with EMR and Cardiac PAC system
