Duke Health Cardiology Cary Place in Cary, NC is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to support imaging and diagnostic evaluation of cardiac conditions using ultrasound modalities.

In this role you will perform routine and advanced echocardiograms, manage equipment, adhere to ASE/ACC guidelines, and participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities. ARDMS/CCI RDCS or ACS certification is required or obtained within 18 months of graduation.

Qualifications

• ARDMS/CCI certification in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS or RCS) or CCI ACS.
• New graduates must obtain ARDMS/CCI credential within 18 months from graduation date.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine and advanced echocardiograms (2D/3D, Doppler, Color Doppler, Strain, Stress) per lab protocol.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and echo reporting systems, ensuring equipment maintenance.
• Evaluate pathology per ASE/ACC guidelines.
• Participate in quality improvement activities for Joint Commission/IAC-Echo accreditation.
• Pre-arrival review of patients' records and obtain relevant history.
• Answer patient questions about procedures and equipment.
• Attend staff meetings and maintain continuing education credentials.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to provide patient and provider support by using ultrasound imaging technologies to aid in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently demonstrates with accuracy performance of routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, Color Doppler, Strain and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physicians following the PDC Echocardiography lab protocol, while maintaining the expected labor standard of 1 procedure per hour, including accurate preliminary reporting.
• Operate GES70, GEE95, Philips and other ultrasound equipment necessary to perform all required procedures. Appropriately uses echo reporting system, ISCV, Muse, and GE Case systems. Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and notify appropriate resources for repairs.
• Ability to thoroughly, and efficiently, evaluate pathology following current guidelines (American Society of Echocardiography (ASE), American College of Cardiology (ACC), etc).
• Participate in all required aspects of quality improvement activities as needed for Joint Commission, and IAC-Echo Accreditations. This would include evaluation of procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain appropriate logs, files, and records. Attends required staff meetings and ensures ensuring continuing education requirements met to support professional growth and certification.
• Perform pre-arrival assessment of patient's medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures. Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines
• Respond to patient questions about procedures and equipment prior to starting the imaging process.
• Attends required staff meetings and ensures ensuring continuing education requirements met to support professional growth and certification.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)/Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) Certification in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS or RCS respectively), or CCI Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS) certification
• New graduates of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program must obtain ARDMS/CCI credential within 18 months from graduation date.
