Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Alexandria, LA, is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to develop and supervise individualized cardiac rehabilitation programs. You will assess patients, interpret ECGs, and guide exercise-based interventions under physician direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Field required; Master’s preferred.
• Two years of direct cardiac and/or pulmonary patient care experience in acute or rehabilitation settings preferred.
• Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehabilitation internship of 400+ hours preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Programs.
• Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist Certification preferred (ACSM).
• Strong verbal ability to communicate with medical staff, patients and families.
• Ability to lead and direct team duties within scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Use an interdisciplinary approach to patient care and recovery, prescribe and progress therapeutic exercise-based interventions for adults.
• Provide ongoing patient assessment including ECG interpretation and physiological responses.
• Adapt therapeutic interventions to patient responses to ensure safety and best outcomes.
• Educate patients and caregivers individually and in groups.
• Exercise independent judgment within scope of practice.
