Job summary

Orlando Heart & Vascular Center is seeking a Cardiac PET/CT Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) to join our cardiovascular imaging team in Orlando. The role involves advanced cardiac PET/CT and nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision.

The candidate will prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals, ensure patient safety and imaging quality, and maintain regulatory compliance while delivering compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• NMTCB certification required.
• RT(N) certification required.
• ARRT/CRT certification preferred or required based on applicable qualifications.
• RT(CT) certification required/preferred for CT responsibilities.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform Cardiac PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine procedures with accuracy and safety.
• Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals per protocol.
• Operate PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic studies.
• Maintain calibration and QC on radioisotope and lab equipment.
• Handle and dispose of radioactive materials according to safety policies.
• Document imaging studies and patient data accurately.
• Obtain patient medical history and provide pre-/post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain credentialing, licenses, and continuing education requirements.

Cardiac PET/CT Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
Orlando Heart & Vascular Center (OHVC) is seeking qualified Cardiac PET/CT Nuclear Medicine Technologists to join our growing cardiovascular imaging team.

Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time

Position Summary

The Cardiac PET/CT Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs advanced cardiac PET/CT and nuclear medicine procedures, including the preparation, measurement, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and tracer studies under the direction of a physician.

The technologist is responsible for maintaining high standards of patient safety, image quality, radiation safety, documentation, and regulatory compliance while providing compassionate and professional patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all duties associated with Cardiac PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with established protocols and applicable regulations.
• Operate PET/CT and nuclear medicine imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic studies.
• Maintain, calibrate, and perform quality control on radioisotope and laboratory equipment as required.
• Handle and dispose of radioactive materials in accordance with radiation safety policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Record, process, and transmit imaging studies using computerized imaging and information systems.
• Obtain and document relevant patient medical history, symptoms, and clinical information.
• Explain procedures to patients and provide appropriate pre- and post-procedure instructions.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of physician orders prior to performing examinations.
• Accurately enter and document patient and healthcare data.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.
• Maintain patient privacy, dignity, modesty, and safety at all times.
• Attend to patients’ clinical needs throughout the imaging procedure and appropriately communicate concerns to the clinical team.
• Maintain all required departmental credentials, certifications, licenses, and continuing education requirements.
• Assist administrative and clinical staff with departmental activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Imaging Equipment

Experience operating the following equipment is preferred:

• GE Discovery 64-Slice Cardiac PET/CT System
• Siemens C-Cam

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• NMTCB certification required.
• RT(N) certification required.
• ARRT/CRT certification preferred or required based on applicable qualifications.
• RT(CT) certification required/preferred for CT responsibilities.
• One to two years of related experience and/or training preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Previous Cardiac PET/CT or Nuclear Cardiology experience strongly preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a multidisciplinary cardiovascular team.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Work Environment

The technologist works in a clinical imaging environment and is expected to maintain a professional, safe, and patient-centered workplace. The position may involve exposure to radiation, radioactive materials, medical equipment, and patients with varying medical needs.

Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the physical requirements necessary to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Using hands and arms for equipment operation and patient care.
