Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to serve on the cardiac call team at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota. This position supports 36 hours weekly across 7:00 am–3:30 pm and 10:00 am–6:30 pm shifts, with on-call duties after 6:30 pm weekdays and 24-hour on-call on weekends.

Responsibilities rotate among the cardiac core team. The role requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program and BCLS within one month of hire; certification as a Surgical

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions under the supervision of an RN in providing technical interventions in the Operating Room to patients of all ages.
• They are also responsible for tasks relating to instrumentation, equipment, prosthesis, and supplies.
• May perform other duties as assigned by the department.
