Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Registered Nurse Circulator for the Cardiac Operating Room team. The role supports open-heart procedures within a five- OR environment and requires OR/cardiac experience. A rotating schedule with 4 x 10-hour shifts and on-call duties is in effect.

Qualifications

• Diploma RN or higher with OR/cardiac focus.
• BLS within 90 days; ACLS within 1 year of hire.
• Experience in operating room/cardiac nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares OR room and ensures equipment and medications are available for the OR team.
• Reviews patient’s chart and assesses patient upon admission and during procedure; positions patient in OR.
• Administers medications and monitors vital signs during the procedure.
• Documents information and provides a call report to the ICU nurse after the procedure.
• Prepares OR for the next case.
