Job summary

US Heart and Vascular is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join Houston Cardiovascular Associates in Houston, TX. The role supports day shifts and requires completing a Medical Assistant program and EKG experience.

The position involves managing patient charts, updating the EMR, taking vital signs, coordinating imaging orders, and assisting the ASC team with pre-visit and post-visit documentation. It offers a comprehensive benefits package and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Experience in administration of EKGs is required.
• Cardiac experience is preferred but not required.
• High School diploma or Texas accredited GED.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain medical history and current concerns.
• Measures vital signs and records data in patient charts.
• Preps patient charts for next day clinic.
• Reviews testing appointments and submits orders with ICD codes when missing.
• Inputs and updates patient medications in the EMR.
• Accesses hospital EMRs as needed.
• Provides H&P and labs to ASC team 2 days in advance of cases.
• Flags ASC cases on surgery patient sheet.
• Runs missed-appointment queries weekly to reschedule patients.
