Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Cardiac electrophysiology program at United Hospital (St. Paul) with an outpatient/inpatient split and a 4-day work week (10-hour days). Primary location is United Hospital (St. Paul) with secondary sites in Woodbury and Hastings.

The role involves independent patient care, education, and collaboration with attending physicians and hospital staff within the EP program. Eligible for benefits as part of Allina Health.

Qualifications

• Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Licensed Physician Assistant or Licensed Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire.
• ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 days.
• Certification as Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner - NCCPA required upon hire.
• Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire.
• New graduates may be considered. Minimum 2 years experience in cardiology or ICU

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical care for patients.
• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
• Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
• Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Participates in health care team and promotes communication within the team.
