Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center seeks a dedicated professional to join the Non-Invasive Cardiac Laboratory. The role involves scheduling, performing diagnostic cardiology studies, and maintaining accurate documentation.

You will uphold patient confidentiality and coordinate with cardiology staff to ensure timely, high-quality care. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, current BLS, knowledge of EKG and heart medications, and experience with nuclear treadmill and dobutamine stress

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Typing 35-40 wpm with accurate grammar.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic EKG.
• Knowledge of heart medications.
• Experience in a clinical environment.
• Experience with nuclear treadmill stress tests, Dobutamine tests, holter monitoring, Signal Average ECG, pacemaker checks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to department and hospital policies (time, attendance, dress code, documentation, precautions).
• Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and staff.
• Demonstrate courteous telephone etiquette.
• Schedule patients; verify physician orders and complete documentation.
• Establish patient identity and protect confidentiality.
• Fax reports to nursing floors and physicians.
• Collaborate with staff to perform diagnostic procedures.
• Promote intradepartmental collaboration and communication.
• Participate in problem solving and equipment maintenance.
• Complete procedures within 24 hours of order; document completion.
• Ensure procedures are read by cardiologists and properly charged.
• Perform cardiology studies in a timely manner; obtain and document patient history.
• Follow department policy per procedure.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Be flexible with shift times to meet department needs.
