Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Per Diem Echocardiography Technician to perform echocardiograms for inpatients and outpatients in Cambridge, MA. The role requires adherence to ASE guidelines, physician orders, and competency across level 1–3 echocardiography practices.

You will participate in pre/post-procedure patient education, assist with TEEs when needed, and maintain CPR and CEU requirements. The position supports teaching and quality-improvement efforts within the Non-Invasive Cardiology

Qualifications

• RDMS or RDCS certification or eligibility, and CEUs current to maintain competency.
• CPR certification current.
• Minimum of one year of echocardiography experience.
• Familiarity with ASE guidelines and cardiac imaging standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms according to ASE standards and physician orders.
• Acquire, calculate, and interpret images; compare with prior exams.
• Assist with transesophageal echo procedures under supervision.
• Ensure equipment safety and routine maintenance as per policy.
• Educate patients pre-procedure and provide post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain CEUs and CPR requirements; participate in teaching.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and training activities.
• Work in collaboration with cardiology team to ensure quality care.
• Adhere to hospital infection control and safety protocols.
