Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet in Joliet, IL seeks a part-time Cardiology Echocardiography Technologist to perform ultrasound studies of cardiac structures and blood flow, and assist physicians during procedures. You will support clerical workflows in the Cardiopulmonary Department and help ensure efficient patient care.

The role requires completion of an echocardiography program certification (or equivalent), and preferred ARDMS/CCI credentials with BCLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Echocardiogram program certification preferred.
• EKG rhythm analysis/interpretation certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current required.
• Able to assist physician with TEE testing preferred.
• 6 Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred.
• Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred.
• 8 Registered Echocardiographer preferred.
• ARDMS or CCI credential required
• Able to perform stress testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses ultrasound to visualize internal cardiac structures and obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricle and left atrium and visualize blood flow.
• Assists the physician with complex ultrasound procedures.
• Promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Department through the appropriate utilization and management of all clerical functions within the department document handling and disposition, interpersonal relationships and information gathering and dispersion.
