Job summary

AdventHealth in DeLand, FL is seeking an experienced cardiovascular sonographer to perform echocardiography and vascular studies. You will operate ultrasound equipment, interpret images, and coordinate scheduling, coding, and billing for procedures.

Candidates should have RDCS/RVT/RCS/RVS credentials or BLS, with at least 1 year of relevant experience and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. On-site position with full-time hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform a full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Must be able to operate all ultrasound systems in the assigned department and utilize the measurement package for determining anatomy, function, and status.
• Must be able to recognize significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology.
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
• Must be able to perform basic mathematic skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex studies, in addition to assisting with imaging procedures.
• Obtains highest quality scans in relation to patient body habitus.
• Enters testing conditions, observations, results, and demographics into patient records.
• Communicates abnormal findings to reading physicians and notifies procedures to be interpreted.
• Performs scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, coding, billing, and reimbursement activities.
• Sets up and adjusts imaging equipment and maneuvers transducers for exams.
• Maintains a clean, safe department and restocks supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
