HCA Healthcare's West Valley Cardiology Services in Caldwell, ID is seeking a Cardiac Device Technician - Level 1 to diagnose and troubleshoot device issues, educate patients, and manage remote monitoring platforms. Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year Cardiology experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac devices or CCDS/CDRMS preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot device issues and take steps toward resolution.
• Collaborate with EP nurses, physicians, vendor reps and non-physicians with patient care.
• Educate patients on device remote monitoring and follow-up protocols.
• Enrollment and scheduling of patients in remote monitoring platforms.
• Schedule device follow-ups in EMR and contact no-show patients.
• Travel to regional or satellite offices for device clinics.
• Promote positive inter-/intra-department communication.
• Serve as a resource to physicians and staff regarding device patients.
• Maintain equipment and report safety issues.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Full time (Monday - Friday, days), no nights, no on call, no weekends, no holidays

Seeking a Cardiac Device Tech – Level 1 for our who possess an advanced and comprehensive knowledge of cardiac device therapy.

• Trouble shoot critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution.
• Collaborate with EP nurses, physicians, vendor representatives and non-physicians with direct patient care, device status and accurately document device analysis in EMR for review.
• Educate patients on all aspects of their device including remote monitoring and follow-up protocol.
• Enrollment, scheduling, education, and maintenance of patients in various remote monitoring platforms (Carelink, Latitude, Merlin, and Biotronik).
• Schedule patients for device appointment follow up in EMR and remote website. Immediately contact “no show” patients to ensure they are re-scheduled.
• Consistently travel to regional or satellite offices for assigned device clinics.
• Participate in positive, proactive inter- and intra-departmental communication. Promote a healthy clinical environment and good working relationships.
• Serve as a resource to physicians and other practice employees regarding device patients and services.
• Keep equipment in good working conditions and notify appropriate personnel of problem areas or safety issues.

What Qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

High School degree or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of one year Cardiology experience required working in a clinical practice in the area of Cardiology/Cardiovascular/Cardiac Sciences with direct patient care experience required

Minimum of one year experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemakers and ICD’s (Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, and Abbott/St. Jude) OR cardiac device technology certification from a recognized device training school such as ATI or PrepMD preferred

Experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions (Carelink, Latitude, and Merlin) preferred.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

Current BLS certification is required.

Certification of completion from an approved cardiac device technical school (such as ATI or Prep MD) or program preferred OR educational/clinical experience to qualify for Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) preferred

Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) or Certified Device Remote Monitoring Specialist (CDRMS) from International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) within two years of hire strongly encouraged and preferred
